Tandava Tribal is the St. Louis area’s first - and only - American Tribal Style® (ATS®) belly dance troupe. ATS® is a style of belly dance that blends traditional Middle Eastern, Flamenco and classical Indian dance with beautiful tribal costumes and jewelry. And, if you watch closely, you’ll see that no two Tandava performances are ever alike. That’s because ATS® belly dance is purely improvisational. The dancers each take turns leading and following, and “talk” to each other using subtle movements and cues.
Tandava Tribal is led by Jenn Kasper, a certified ATS® Instructor and Teacher Trainer. Tandava is also a sister studio of FatChanceBellyDance®, based in San Francisco, which is the original troupe that made ATS famous under FCBD's director, Carolena Nericcio-Bohlman. As a sister studio, Tandava Tribal routinely hosts workshops and haflas in St. Louis, and across the Midwest region.
Tandava teaches weekly classes, hosts workshops and shows, hosts parties and performs at events big and small.
